Leeds School Meals Website

The Leeds School Meals team is pleased to announce the launch of their new website and interactive managed notice board.

As part of the Leeds School Meals Strategy - the school meals team have created a website and a managed notice board to support schools, pupils, families, communities, health, education professionals and school meal providers implement the new healthier meals standards.

There is a great deal of hard work already underway in many Leeds schools. The website aims to build on and learn from each other by sharing ideas; provide a voice to all and enable users to anonymously post. Designed in consultation with pupils, cooks and parents, we hope the website offers something for everyone and encourage users to visit and contribute to its content.

The website includes information about the standards, access to free training opportunities and a range of pilots currently underway such as:

improve dining rooms and the eating experience;
research to help schools increase free school meals as part inequalities targets; and
develop school meal ambassadors as part of school council to self monitor the standards.

It promotes a range of Leeds case studies and invites schools to post and share their success stories and lessons learnt.

The school meals team are keen to ensure the site meets user needs, and will be regularly updated with new projects and developments.
