Procurement Advice Specific to Service
- Cleaning
A Flexible Approach
The in-house cleaning service provided by Leeds City Council offers a cleaning service to educational establishments across the City. We offer a tailored service which meets individual school requirements. When schools are considering a cleaning contractor they should consider the following:
Is the service flexible and adaptable to fit in with your individual school’s requirements?
Will the provider offer a form of contract which details levels of service specification and that sets down the minimum standards of service which should be expected.
Will the service reflect customer requirements through the development of a communication network with on-site staff and caretaking managers?
Does the provider have well recognised, established health and safety policies in place and how do they fit in with the requirements of the establishment.
Will on-site staff be trained to standard and non-standard procedures and will regular monitors of operational procedures be carried out?
Will on-site staff receive support and guidance on a regular basis.
Does the service comply with environmental standards and will the service use environmentally-friendly cleaning materials?
How will the provider react to an emergency situation, e.g. equipment/facilities breakdown?
How will staff shortages be dealt with and how does the employment package compare to the current one?
Will a detailed pricing policy be negotiated and agreed with school to ensure all requirements are covered?
