Early Years Service - Daycare Support Team

Provided by Leeds City Council

Purpose of the service
To offer advice and support through the Ofsted Registration Process and following Inspections.

Description of the service
The Care Standards Act 2000 clearly defined Ofsted’s and the Local Authority’s responsibilities in the regulation of Day Care. Ofsted have four clear areas of responsibilities: Registration, Inspection, Investigation and Enforcement. The Local Authority is charged with the statutory retained function of providing advice, training and support, locally through the Day Care Support Team in the Early Years Service.

Advice on initial application and suitability of premises and guidance on meeting the requirements of the 14 National Daycare Standards will be available from the Team.

Pricing structure
This service is free of charge to any potential or existing childcare providers in Leeds.
